Abstract: The comparative analysis of two writers whose work is apparently marked by the same thematic elements shows that the motives used to study the human condition in literature can be actualized even by presenting a few literary epitomes. In the case of Ion Druță, the motif of “rootedness” gives rise to a literature that explores the village, childhood and sorrows of life, while in the case of Miguel Delibes, the same motif “el arraigo” opens up the world of the simple Spanish man in the countryside, with his inner anxieties and inner searching. By establishing new literary and historical links between Moldova and Spain, in the conflagrations and upheavals of the 20th century, it is possible to identify ways of restoring harmony between the man and his own self and, above all, between man and nature.
