Abstract: The folklore of children represents a fascinating and complex domain of popular culture, reflecting the playful, imaginative, and educational world of the young. Folklorist Nicolae Băieșu, known within the academic community of the Republic of Moldova for his significant contributions to the study and documentation of Romanian folk traditions, paid special attention to this subject. This article, written on the occasion of a scientific conference commemorating the scholar’s 90th birth anniversary, aims to explore Nicolae Băieșu’s approaches and findings regarding children’s folklore, highlighting its importance within the context of popular culture and traditional education. Examining the distinguished folklorist’s studies reveals the depth and rigor of his research activities, which he undertook to identify, document, and enhance elements of intangible cultural heritage, particularly those related to calendar customs poetry and children’s folklore.
